Job description

POSITION:               Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
DEPARTMENT:        Surgery
HOURS:                   40 hours per week/Exempt

WAGE RANGE:         $112.98 - $145.27
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice nurse who specializes in anesthesia. A CRNA is responsible for administering anesthesia and monitoring the patient before, during and after the procedure. The CRNA begins by reviewing the patient’s treatment plan and medical history.

This position provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients from neonatal through lifespan population, requiring surgical, obstetrical and other anesthesia services. The CRNA possesses additional training, education and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients with complex and unique anesthetic requirements. Supports and contributes to the patient-centered care philosophy that every team member is a caregiver, who cares about the needs of each patient.

 
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of anesthesia as determined by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Commission on Higher Education Accreditation.  Graduates must have passed the Council of Nurse Anesthetist National certification examination.  New graduates may practice under the supervision of a CRNA as a Graduate Nurse Anesthetist while awaiting the opportunity to take/obtain results of the national certification examination.  Must maintain a current Minnesota Registered Nurse’s License.  Must maintain recertification standards set forth by the AANA.  Must maintain current ACLS & PALS certification.  Must have a current MN driver's license. Travel is required. Must maintain clinical privileges authorized by CCM Health staff.

  • Educational preparation and clinical experience as obtained during accredited education, continuing educational opportunities, and/or previous CRNA position.
