Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Cleveland, OH
Business Unit: Team Wendy
Schedule: Non-Exempt, 1st Shift 5:00 am-1:00 p.m. 2nd Shift 1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Purpose of Position:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and extending the life of equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance.
The Maintenance Technician works closely with operations and engineering teams to identify issues, implement effective solutions, and uphold safety and quality standards. Through timely response, technical expertise, and adherence to maintenance best practices, this position supports operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement timely, effective repairs.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production support requests to maintain operational continuity.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and recommend corrective or improvement actions.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in maintenance logs or systems.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements in collaboration with Operations and Engineering.
  • Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory and coordinating with vendors as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Communicate equipment status, risks, and repair timelines clearly to supervisors and production teams
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and hazard awareness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively to equipment issues under time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical certification, associate degree, or formal trade training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, automation systems, or CNC equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing or warehouse operation.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems for tracking maintenance activities and parts inventory.
  • Welding, fabrication, or HVAC experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with Operations and Engineering teams.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Cleveland, OH is $27.38 to $36.29 hourly. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
