Job Summary
This position will assist Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center delivering a variety of environmental education programs and supporting the general operations of the Center.
Responsibilities
  • Duties and Responsibilities include;
  • Leading educational programs for the public;
  • Coordinate and design with the Oxbow team weekend programs for families;
  • Lead weekend family activities that focus on the outdoors, the environment, and science;
  • Attend offsite community events;
  • Design marketing materials for upcoming events and fundraisers using Canva;
  • Assist with animal care and exhibit care as needed;
  • Assist with outdoor projects, such as trail maintenance as needed;
  • Supporting birthday programs on Saturday.

Required Qualifications
  • Be a current CSU student;
  • The selected candidate must possess a genuine interest in children and teaching;
  • Interest in learning about herpetology, including animal care;
  • Have a positive attitude;
  • Well-developed communication skills;
  • Ability to adapt to a changing and fast-paced working environment.

Proposed Salary
$10/hourly.
Must be available Saturday 8:30-4:30, remaining hours will accommodate academic schedules, maximum 19 hours a week.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must have own reliable transportation, Oxbow Meadows is not on main campus;
  • Must be willing to learn how to lead programs using reptiles and amphibians;
  • Must have interest and enthusiasm for working with children;
  • Must have excellent communication skills and professional demeanor;
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively;
  • Position is open to any majors.
