What is a Weekend Power Platform developer?

Weekend Power Platform Developers are professionals who specialize in building applications, automations, and data solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents, and who typically work during weekends. They may be engaged to handle urgent updates, support ongoing projects, or provide additional development capacity outside standard business hours. These developers are skilled in low-code/no-code development and often collaborate with teams to deliver business solutions efficiently.

What are the typical responsibilities of a Weekend Power Platform developer, and how does the work schedule impact collaboration with full-time teams?

While your work hours differ from the standard weekday schedule, strong documentation and clear communication are essential to ensure seamless handoffs and updates for full-time team members. Collaboration often happens asynchronously through tools like Teams or project management platforms, making attention to detail and proactive status reporting especially important in this role.

To thrive as a Weekend Power Platform Developer, you need strong proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), a background in software development, and relevant certifications like Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate. Experience with tools such as Dataverse, Azure services, and integrating APIs is typically required. Exceptional problem-solving, time management, and communication skills help you deliver solutions efficiently, especially when working independently or in remote weekend settings. These competencies ensure you can create, maintain, and optimize business applications that drive productivity and meet client needs within limited timeframes.
