PLC / Electrical Technician
Watsontown, PA

Watsontown Brick, a trusted brand within the General Shale family, is seeking a PLC / Electrical Technician to join our manufacturing team at our Watsontown, Pennsylvania facility. This role is ideal for a skilled industrial electrician or controls technician with strong troubleshooting abilities and experience supporting automated manufacturing environments.

Position Overview:

The PLC / Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant electrical systems and automated equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position supports production through preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and on-call technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic wiring and installation of industrial electrical equipment

  • Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical systems and automated machinery

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled equipment

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems

  • Modify and update software and equipment as needed to support operations

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and controls

  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including off-shifts and weekends

  • Work primarily with Siemens control systems and software

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial electronics or electrical experience

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • Experience with:

    • Motor control circuits

    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

    • HMIs

    • Industrial networking

    • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

  • Proficiency with Siemens software and control equipment

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley automation and programming, including:

    • RSLogix 500 & 5000

    • ControlLogix

    • FactoryTalk ME

    • RSLinx

  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics or a related field is preferred

  • Industrial electrician experience strongly desired
