Overview

The New Products Introduction (NPI) team is responsible for the development, validation and commercial introduction for Cretex Medical.  The NPI team will work on developing solutions to bring complex medical device components, assemblies and devices to the market for our customers.

Position Summary 

The NPI Plastics Process Engineer will be responsible for the development and execution of all key technical molding operations including the establishment of process parameters, support of validation activities, and troubleshooting issues in an injection molding manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize scientific molding principles to establish capable processes for new and existing tooling including the use of modelling tools to simulate and understand the material flow
  • Standardize and support set-up procedures and standard tools to continuously reduce set-up times
  • Develop, model and document processes that demonstrate the achievement of functional, financial, and quality goals
  • Participate in the development of validation protocols in cooperation with Quality, and Operations
  • Execute comprehensive OQ protocols that clearly define, demonstrate, and document process windows sufficient to achieve Process Capabilities that meet or exceed Customer's and/or Cretex Process Capability requirements on critical to quality features
  • Support the Quality team while they execute comprehensive PQ protocols that clearly define, demonstrate, and document process windows sufficient to achieve Process Capabilities that meet or exceed Customer's and/or Cretex Process Capability requirements on critical to quality features
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities for processes that are performing below Cretex quality standards
  • Communicate with customers as necessary regarding technical details of the molding and validation process
  • Specify and purchase injection molding equipment as needed to support development and production needs.
  • Review, learn and implement new technologies as needed for development of Cretex Medicals' technical offerings to customers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Engineering, Material Science, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of injection molding experience, or an equivalent combination of 10+ years of relevant injection molding experience and specialized training. Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to use Moldex 3D or equivalent mold filling simulation software
  • Ability to use Solidworks for 3D CAD use
  • Thermoset injection molding experience

Pay RangeUSD $75,000.00 - USD $112,600.00 /Yr.Pay Range Details

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

20+hours:
