Job description

Job Summary
The skinning position sorts cattle mortalities following GMP's and removes the hide from cattle, cuts cattle into pieces, eviscerates, and removes CMPAF material as needed using hoists, lifts, bobcats, loaders, saws, shears, and knives.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
  • Operate bobcats, knives, hoists and saws to process cattle mortalities.
  • Sort cattle mortalities by age, remove hides, eviscerate, split, remove CMPAF material, and grind cattle mortalities into processing sizes.
  • Maintain good housekeeping before, after, and during each shift.
  • Following all company policies and GMP's pertaining to the job requirements.
  • Perform other job duties as directed by the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager.
  • Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
  • Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Slaughter house experience a plus.
  • Problem solving and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work in a team concept and high level of reliability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels of plant personnel.
  • Shift work, overtime, and weekend work required.

Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
