Description
Job Summary
Provides the highest level of Guest Service while supporting the inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and minor repair of Arcades & Games equipment. Under supervision, assists Arcade Technicians and Games Maintenance Supervisors in maintaining safe, clean, and operational arcade and game areas. Performs custodial duties, restocks supplies, supports daily operations, responds to operational issues, and assists Guests and coworkers as needed. Ensures all work is completed in alignment with Boardwalk Guest Service Principles.
Unique Job Requirements
This is a unique opportunity to join the Boardwalk's Guest Service Team and must exemplify outstanding Guest Service to our Guest by owning the key Guest Service Principles; Smile, Welcome, Eye contact, Lift the experience and Leave them well.
Must be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week flexible schedules 7 days per week, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, generally between 7:30AM and 1:00AM. Occasionally work as early as 6:00AM and as late as 4:00AM. Works around cleaning agents and chemicals and wears a company-issued uniform.
Job Tasks
Guest Service & Operations
  • Greet every Guest and respond to questions with consistent, friendly, and helpful service.

  • Assist Guests and Team Members during daily operations.

  • Monitor and trouble shoot Arcades & Games during operation, respond to calls & a two-way radio, and report issues.

  • Respond to Guest Service calls and communicate technical issues and solutions in a polite and friendly mannger related to arcade machines, photo booths, lockers, kiosks, midway games and attractions.

Maintenance & Repairs
  • Assist with trouble shooting & minor repairs and maintenance of arcade games, Games, Guest experience & amenities and interactive equipment.

  • Perform minor repairs independently and safely.

  • Refer major or complex repair issues to the appropriate Supervisor by submitting work orders.

  • Assist in preparing new games for operation and installing video game kits.

  • Communicate with technicians, leadership, supervisors, and management regarding game operation and status.

  • Lubricate and clean pinball shooters and fields.

  • Change light bulbs and replace rubbers on pinball machines.

  • Under direct supervision, assist with seasonal projects.

Cleaning & Custodial Duties
  • Follow cleaning schedule for Games, Arcade games, Guest experience & amenities equipment.

  • Execute Games & Arcade daily general cleaning checklists to completion

  • Wash windows as needed.

  • Scrub counter fronts weekly and as required.

  • Clean machines before and after repairs.

  • Maintain game areas, shop areas, and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Follow proper cleaning methods and safety practices.

Inventory, Supplies & Equipment
  • Distribute cleaning supplies and arcades & game supplies (targets, balloons, darts, etc.).

  • Assist with parts, tools, and supplies pickup and delivery.

  • Assist with transporting games between arcades and technical shop locations using proper equipment.

General
  • Follow all safety procedures and lifting techniques.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Regular Guest interaction and occasional contact with outside vendors.
Qualifications: Training and Experience
Minimum of three months of arcade operations, maintenance, custodial, or related experience. Experience using basic hand and power tools preferred. Knowledge of game maintenance is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn use of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs.

  • Ability to identify basic hardware (nuts, bolts, screws, etc.).

  • Ability to learn and apply proper cleaning and maintenance methods.

  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand trucks, dollies, and other moving equipment.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to use two-way radio communication systems.

  • Ability to provide consistent, friendly, and helpful Guest Service to Team Members and Guests.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in using a computer, including email communication and creating work assignments in database.

Physical Requirements
  • Able to kneel, squat, or work at low heights frequently thorughout the shift.

  • Able to maneuver and work safely in confined or narrow spaces between arcade machines.

  • Able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions while cleaning or performing minor repairs.

  • Adequate near vision, color vision, and depth perception to indentify small components, read labels, and inspect machine parts.

  • Ability to work around flashing lights, theater smoke, low-light areas, and heat emitted from machines.

  • Able to work in environments with varying temperatures (front of house vs back of house)

  • Able to safely operate and carry cleaning tools (vacuum, mop, broom, etc.) and supply items throughout the shift.

  • Able to push or pull loaded carts, dollies, or hand trucks weighing 100-300lbs (with proper equipment).

  • Able to lift, push, pull equipment, and carry up to 90 lbs with assistance and 55 lbs independently.

  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8.5 hours on hard surfaces.

  • Able to reach overhead to access machine components or perform cleaning tasks.

  • Able to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Able to perform physically demanding work, including crawling, stooping, pushing, stretching, bending, pulling, and lifting for long periods of time (6 - 8 hours).

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.

  • Able to work in a noisy environment.

  • Bi-manual dexterity is required.

  • Able to see, hear, read, write, and interpret basic documents.
