Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The multimedia intern will capture campus activities through photo and/or video as required by University Marketing and Communications. Position is available for summer and the 2023-24 academic year. This paid position is 12 hours a week and reports to the Multimedia Content Producer.
Responsibilities

Photograph USCU events, candid campus life, and portraits for web distribution and Marketing publications
Edit photo shoots to choose the best images
Add metadata and catalog all images to be kept
Edit individual photos to add impact while keeping within printing protocol on color and exposure
Track and find images in Canto DAM
Communicate professionally with clients and coworkers
Keep a calendar and records to maintain on-time attendance to photo shoots
Deliver images within deadline restrictions
Edit client-selected photos for publication
Maintain flexible hours to include some evenings and weekend photo shoots
Must (occasionally) lift/carry and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs
Qualifications
Qualifications

         Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at University of South Carolina Upstate. 
         Must be in good academic standing and remain so throughout the course of the internship.
         Must be in good conduct standing with the Dean of Students and remain so throughout the course of the internship.
         MUST have photographic skills, including a working knowledge of exposure, color, and lighting. 
         Resident photo students are preferred. 
         Must have a desire to learn more about lighting. 
         Must be able and willing to use an on-camera flash. 
         People skills are desired, as photographers are called upon to interact with groups of guests, alumni, and campus leaders. 
         Must have a working understanding and ability of using post-production Adobe software (Lightroom and Photoshop mandatory; Premiere Pro preferred). 
         Portfolio displaying excellent images of candid life, sport coverage, and portrait abilities is expected at interview (Electronic portfolio is acceptable).
