Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): 

The photographer will work closely with staff members in the Marketing and Communications Office to photograph a variety of people, places, and events at St. Olaf.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

The photographer is responsible for capturing, editing, and archiving images from a variety of people and events at St. Olaf. The photographer is responsible for the management of our Smugmug media library, meta tagging, and oversees the proper organization of our assets. 

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

Students applying for this position must have strong photography skills, experience taking journalistic-style photographs, and experience with photo editing programs like Photoshop. Applicants for this position must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and be detail-oriented.


Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., operating hand tools, and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise and rare exposure to wet or humid conditions indoors, extreme cold, extreme heat, and heights or cramped quarters to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
