Blackstone is looking for a Journeyman Millwright with a strong background in rotating equipment to support the repair, overhaul,assemblyand testing ofofcritical mechanical assets in our Sherwood Park location. This role focuses on pumps, compressors, gearboxes, motors, and associated drive systems, with an emphasis on precision alignment, mechanical fit-up, and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will bring a safety-first mindset, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience working with rotating equipment where reliability, quality workmanship, and attention to detail are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining an organized and safe workspace all the while completing all required documentation for assigned tasks
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery for repair or maintenance.
  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals todeterminework procedures.
  • Adhering to and promoting a safe work environment for yourself and co-workers
  • Keepaccuraterecords of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Working within a team, and on occasion on your own depending on the task
  • Being flexible to the urgent nature of our business, you may be asked periodically to ensure work is completedin a timely manner
  • Completing all company required documentationin a timely manneras directed by your supervisor and other leaders within the business
  • Supporting the business as it requires or ina manner in whichyou are inspired to positively contribute to the work environment for yourself and your co-workers
  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends toassistin rush repairs and meet ourclientsneeds.
  • Be a good mentor for our younger and up and coming apprentices and project management team, and able to collaborate with other Millwrights andPMstocome up withsolutions on difficult problems that arise.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Journeyman millwright ticketwith 5+ years of experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial equipment
  • Ability to follow written procedures, drawings, and verbal instructions
  • Experience performing equipment overhauls, repairs, and rebuilds
  • Thorough working knowledge of rotating equipment including reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, gearboxes, pumps, fans,steam turbines,and blowers
  • Skilled in fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts, installing motors, and setting couplings and belt drives to precise tolerances
  • Strong hoisting and rigging skills with a focus on safe lifting practices
  • Proficient with laser alignment systems and precision measuring tools
  • Ability to accurately document measurements, findings, and completed work
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to diagnose equipment failures and mechanical issues
  • Experience performing predictive maintenance and operational checks
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and service manuals
  • Self-motivated, well organized, punctual, dependable, and willing to learn
  • Strong communicationand customer service skills
  • Commitment tocomplying withall company safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Have a valid class 5 drivers license
  • Overhead Crane, Rigging Safety, Forklift, Zoom Boom, First Aid, and SCBA certifications are considered assets
