Position Description
The
Journeyman Laborer supports Penhall Company's field operations in concrete cutting, coring, breaking, and demolition. This position requires reliability, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic. Working under the direction of a Foreman, the Journeyman helps ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Penhall's quality standards. Training and advancement opportunities are available for qualified candidates.
This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Laborers union. Will be required to join the union and maintain membership in good standing. Current union members welcome to apply. Pay rate is union scale.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support daily field operations including concrete cutting, coring, breaking, and related demolition activities.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Assist foremen, operators, and other crew members as directed on job sites.
- Adhere strictly to Penhall safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Load, unload, and maintain equipment and job materials as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas during and after job completion.
- Follow directions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.
- Travel to job sites as required, including out-of-town assignments, night shifts, and weekend work.
- Represent Penhall Company with professionalism on job sites and while operating company vehicles.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience on a construction job site required.
- Minimum of 2 years of continuous employment with the same employer strongly preferred.
- Verifiable previous employment required.
- Penhall will provide training for qualified candidates.
