Position Description
The Foreman is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and overseeing craft employee activities across one or more job sites. This role ensures productivity, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with project timelines and specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and supervise field operations, including construction methods, manpower needs, material and equipment requirements, temporary power setup, and shift scheduling.
  • Coordinate activities across trades, company departments, and other contractors.
  • Collaborate with estimating and planning teams to ensure compliance with job specifications and timelines.
  • Identify and resolve site challenges such as low productivity, scheduling conflicts, or equipment issues.
  • Monitor and enforce safety compliance on job sites; document incidents and implement corrective measures.
  • Perform daily observations (BOCs) and productivity tracking.
  • Provide regular reporting on work progress and crew performance.
  • Administer and support preventive maintenance and repair programs for construction equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and coordinate repair of diesel and gas-powered equipment (service truck provided).
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed (MIG, TIG, ARC).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, and inventory levels.
  • Liaise with specialty shops and vendors for external repair support.
  • Provide support and mentorship to craft employees; identify and recommend corrective actions or recognition.

Position Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven experience supervising field crews in a construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, cost control, and productivity tracking.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with construction equipment repair.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital job tracking tools.
  • Proficient in verbal and written business communication.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in construction or related trades.
  • Technical expertise in construction methods, tools, and equipment.
  • Demolition, heavy equipment, or Class A CDL experience is a plus.

Physical and Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and move 45 lbs or more.
  • Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Willing to work in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain).
  • Must wear steel toe leather work boots.
