Job description

Position Details
Advertising/Posting Title Costume Shop Supervisor Posting Summary
Provide support services in costume production for the School of the Arts Theatre & Dance Program, including supervision and management of all activities in the costume shop. Oversee costume-related materials purchasing, storage, upkeep of inventory, administration of costume rentals/loans, maintenance of costume shop equipment and supplies. Responsible for completing costume construction and all associated duties for all Program productions, including instructing costume stagecraft labs and training of work-study students on costume construction. Manage and oversee costume run crews for productions. Reports to Associate Director for Operations.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in Theatre or a related field and two to four years' related experience required. Experience in costume shop management and costume construction required. Demonstrated ability to use and train others in the safe and proper use of sewing machines, dye equipment and other related machines and materials. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to read and execute costume renderings. Proficient in all aspects of draping/pattern making, fitting, dressmaking, tailoring, millinery, dye processes, and other costume related procedures.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with and/or supervising students.
Anticipated Pay Range $57,000 - $62,000 Other Information
