Position Summary:

Packer is responsible for the production and/or packaging of a variety of manufactured products.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling operations and sorting
  • Examine all finished product to ensure that packing specifications are met, date code is applied 
  • Inspect product for flaws or defects
  • Ensure correct counts, bags and boxes according to job specifications
  • Assist in changeovers and work stoppages to clean work area and equipment using cleaning solutions
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices while in production areas
  • Adhere to and enforce procedures in regards to Food Defense, Safety, and HACCP
  • Report all accidents, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to a supervisor
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Break down cardboard for recycling and separate waste as per company’s policy
  • Perform related duties as required by supervisor

  • Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
  • Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing to learn and have attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to work extended hours while standing
