Job description

WEEKEND PACKAGE

Work 3 out of 4, 4 out of 5, or 5 out of 6 weekends
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
7:00 PM โ€“ 7:00 AM

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), you will collect blood specimens from patients and receive, process, and analyze laboratory specimens including blood, body fluids, tissue, and other patient samples. Responsibilities include performing laboratory testing, reviewing and verifying test results, and accurately entering and accepting results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Patients and healthcare team members rely on laboratory staff to provide timely, accurate results that support diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Use laboratory equipment and analyzers to perform patient testing
  • Perform maintenance and monitoring of analyzers and other laboratory processes
  • Ensure Quality Control (QC) procedures are completed and acceptable prior to patient testing
  • Enter patient information and laboratory results into the electronic health record and Laboratory Information System (LIS)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related laboratory science field
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) preferred or eligible

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred
