Job description

10,000 Sign on Bonus Under the collaboration and guidance of physicians, the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) provides comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, coordination, and evaluation of care in accordance with Illinois licensure and collaborative practice agreements.Direct Patient Care Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care in alignment with established practice standards and collaborative agreements.
  • Conduct comprehensive health histories, physical exams, daily progress notes, discharge summaries, and procedural documentation.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Develop diagnoses and implement pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment plans within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health management.
  • See patients in clinic and perform hospital rounds as directed by the Supervising Cardiologist.
  • Assist with procedures, special tests, and emergency interventions as needed.
  • Act independently within legal scope to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Manage selected outpatient clinic services when assigned (e.g., anticoagulation, heart failure, pacemaker, or lipid clinics).
  • Participate in weekend rounding and on-call coverage as agreed upon.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Illinois RN and Advanced Practice licensure (IDFPR).
  • Master’s degree in an advanced nursing specialty.
  • National APRN certification.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Completion of required EKG coursework within 12 months.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred
  • Advanced credentials or specialty certifications.
