Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract

  • LCV Certification Required (In-house Training Provided for Successful Applicants)

    • (Min. 2 years of driving experience; Min. 150,000kms driven on a tractor trailer)

  • Must be able to perform winter tire chain up as per company procedure

  • Mountain driving and highway driving experience is preferred

  • Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Safe operation of all equipment and strong mechanical aptitude

  • A high-level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self directed

  • Professional demeanor under stressful situations and customer service focus

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to lift, load, push, pull and carry items up to 80 lbs

  • Ability to work independently as well as assist team members when necessary

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Availability for nights, weekends and statutory holidays

Position Overview

The Transfer Driver will be responsible for the delivery of trailers over established routes to be based out of Kelowna and surrounding areas. The successful applicant will be compensated by the daily contract rate.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Transfer Driver will be responsible for transferring trailers to areas in the Interior and Delta as per business needs. The Transfer Driver is expected to operate the vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules and regulations of the road, and following all appropriate company policies and procedures.
