Weekend Ot information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Occupational Therapist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Occupational Therapist, you need a degree in occupational therapy, state licensure, and a solid understanding of therapeutic techniques and patient care. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs), adaptive equipment, and standardized assessment tools is essential. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills help you work independently and provide effective therapy in a weekend setting. These abilities ensure high-quality patient outcomes and efficient care delivery during limited weekend hours.

What is the difference between Weekend Ot vs Weekend Nurse?

Weekend OTs and Weekend Nurses both work in healthcare settings during weekends, but their roles differ. OTs focus on therapy and rehabilitation, requiring specific certifications, while Nurses provide direct patient care with nursing licenses. Both are essential in healthcare but serve different functions.

What are Weekend OTs?

Weekend OTs, or Weekend Occupational Therapists, are licensed professionals who provide occupational therapy services primarily during weekends. They work with patients to help them develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working, often covering shifts when regular staff are off. Weekend OTs may work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or long-term care facilities, ensuring patients receive continuous care and support outside of traditional weekday hours.

How does working as a Weekend Occupational Therapist differ from a traditional weekday OT role, and what should applicants expect in terms of workflow and collaboration?

As a Weekend Occupational Therapist, you often work with a smaller team and handle a higher degree of autonomy, since fewer staff are present compared to weekdays. You may focus on acute care cases, discharge planning, or addressing urgent patient needs that arise over the weekend. Collaboration is still essential, typically involving close communication with nursing staff, physicians, and sometimes physical therapists to ensure continuity of care. The pace can be brisk, and flexibility is key, but the role offers unique opportunities to make a significant impact when resources are limited.

Warehouse Operations Manager

Candidate Source

Victoria, VA

$100K - $150K/yr

Job description

Our client is a growing seating manufacturer and distributor with two facilities in Victoria, VA — a 100,000 sq. ft. cold storage plant and a 280,000 sq. ft. two-story production and warehousing facility. We're looking for a hands-on Director of Operations to take ownership of daily warehouse and shipping operations, bring structure to a fast-paced site, and serve as the key communication link between the Victoria team and corporate office in Vancouver, Canada.

This is a warehousing and distribution leadership role, not a heavy manufacturing role — about 90% of our operation is inbound/outbound shipping, with a smaller production and upholstery assembly component.

What You'll Own

  • Daily operations across receiving, inventory, shipping, and a small production/assembly line

  • Building and leading a strong shipping crew (site of 18–25 employees)

  • Warehouse organization and clear, efficient product flow in and out of the facility

  • Proactive, high-level reporting and communication back to Head Office on staffing, production, and key risks

  • Health & safety compliance, HR basics (hiring, scheduling, performance management)

  • Vendor, carrier, and equipment coordination

What Success Looks Like

  • A well-organized, efficient warehouse

  • A trained, accountable shipping crew

  • Consistent, proactive communication — no surprises for Head Office

  • On-time fulfillment and strong inventory accuracy

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of operations leadership in warehousing, distribution, or light manufacturing

  • A track record of managing hourly crews and multiple moving parts under deadline pressure

  • Strong communicator — comfortable working independently and reporting back to a remote leadership team

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Monday.com (CRM), Teams, and Great Plains or similar ERP/MRP/WMS systems

  • Decisive leadership style with strong personal values and alignment to company vision

  • Flexibility for occasional weekend/OT coverage, especially in the first 3–6 months

Compensation & Schedule

  • $100,000–$150,000 base (reviewed at 90 days), bonus eligible (Christmas bonus standard; annual bonus tied to company performance)

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; some early flexibility required as you ramp up

  • Reports to the VP of Operations and company President
