Shepherd is the only rehabilitation facility in the nation with an intensive care unit on-site, allowing us to care for the most complex patients and begin the rehabilitation process sooner. The Unit Secretary provides reception and clerical assistance to a Shepherd Program, taking on special projects as needed. This role allows for interaction and engagement with staff and patients across the continuum to help ensure exceptional patient care, safety, and unit and other services.
The Unit Secretary assists patients and staff as necessary in the applicable program of role assignment.
Accountabilities:
- Effectively handles incoming/outgoing phone calls on multiple lines, meeting the needs of callers if possible and directing the caller to the appropriate source when necessary.
- Assists in filing, copying and maintenance of medical records.
- Obtain consent forms.
- Greets visitors and patients in a friendly and considerate manner.
- Maintains copier/fax/printer supplies and maintenance.
- Maintains cleanliness of reception and common areas.
-Schedules procedures at Piedmont as needed.
-Calls appropriate Physician, APP & Wound Nurse for Admissions.
-Scans into EPIC and On Base.
