PURPOSE
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery used in construction, such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, and loaders. This role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and precise operation of equipment while adhering to project plans, safety regulations, and company standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safely operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, and graders for various construction tasks.
  • Read and interpret construction blueprints, plans, and job specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
  • Communicate with supervisors and site personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Follow safety protocols to avoid accidents or damage to equipment and property.
  • Assist with site preparation, excavation, backfilling, grading, and other heavy lifting activities.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management promptly.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Certification to operate heavy equipment (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations.
  • Valid TWIC Card
  • Valid driver's license.
