As a Casual Registered Nurse at our Evergreen Community in White Rock, you will play a leadership role in ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality clinical care for our residents.

This opportunity is best suited for experienced RNs who are currently working part-time or in other casual roles and are committed to taking on regular casual shifts. We are seeking nurses who are proactive, clinically strong, and dependable, individuals who value continuity of care and show up consistently to support residents and care teams.

About The Roleย 

As a Casual RN, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care while leading and supporting the care team on shift. You will exercise strong clinical judgment, oversee care delivery, and respond confidently to complex and changing resident needs.

While this role offers flexibility, it also requires commitment. Successful candidates will have availability for evening and night shifts, with availability at least once per week, and the ability to pick up blocks of shifts throughout the month.

Key Responsibilities will include:ย 

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care based on individualized resident assessments and care plans.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions in accordance with best practices and safety protocols.
  • Provide clinical leadership on shift, supervising and mentoring care staff.
  • Advocate for resident well-being using a person-centered approach.
  • Proactively identify changes in resident condition and respond appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using electronic health records.
  • Support continuity of care by reliably accepting and completing scheduled casual shifts.
  • Contribute to a respectful, collaborative, and positive workplace culture.

Requirementsย 

  • Current registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) with BCCNM.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in geriatric, palliative, or complex care preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
  • Availability for evening and night shifts.
  • Availability to work at least one shift per week, with flexibility to pick up additional shifts or blocks of shifts.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Word.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
