As the Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for effective care delivery and management of patient care within a specialty, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to current standards of nursing practice. Communicates and coordinates effectively with all entities involved in the care of the patient to promote safe, high quality care. Making decisions reflecting critical thinking and evidence based nursing practice.

Position Details:
  • Location: 133 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA - Remote
  • Department: Gastroenterology
  • Schedule: 40HRS Weekly

If you are located in Massachusetts, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build therapeutic and supportive relationships with patients and families, providing education and managing care transitions
  • Assess patient symptoms and concerns received through telephone calls, patient portal messages, secure chat, and referrals
  • Prioritize patient needs based on clinical urgency and established protocols
  • Escalate complex or urgent clinical issues to GI physicians or Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs)
  • Review and respond to patient inquiries regarding GI conditions, medications, test results, and treatment plans
  • Provide clinical guidance within nursing scope of practice
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, mentor nursing staff, and uphold high standards of patient service and safety
  • Manage electronic medical record (EMR) in-basket workflows
  • Review and address patient portal messages, refill requests, test results, and provider communications
  • Identify messages requiring provider review and route appropriately
  • Maintain timely response standards in accordance with departmental expectations

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a State-approved school of nursing
  • Current, unrestricted, license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Up to date with current standard of nursing care in Specialty
  • Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • 2+ years of RN experience
  • Solid critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and patient interviewing skills
  • Ability to interpret clinical information, assess the implication of treatment and develop and implement a plan of care
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a rapidly changing environment with multiple demands
  • Excellence in practice, documentation, and cost-effective care utilization. Maintains high patient satisfaction

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
