Job description

SCHEDULE: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
POSITION SUMMARY
The Truck Driver is responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex transportation duties in support of the Transportation Department. This position operates a tractor with tanker trailer to transport propane and/or fuel products from supply points to designated company facilities in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Operate assigned tractor/tanker trailer to pick up propane and/or fuel products and deliver them to assigned facilities
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Safely and efficiently transfer products between transport vehicles and bulk storage systems
  • Maintain compliance with all DOT, company, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Conduct all duties in accordance with established safety and security standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job
  • Valid Class A State Driver's License with HazMat and Tanker Endorsements
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Ability to safely drive various vehicles
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk. The employee must consistently lift and/or move 40-60-pounds, and occasionally, have to lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when in the field.
