Job description

Job Title: Fiber Optic Technician
Location: Corpus Christi, TX
Schedule: 5&2, 10-hour days
Zadok Technologies is accepting résumés for Fiber Optic Technicians to work in the Corpus Christi, TX area. If you're a Fiber Optic Technician, or helper, with industrial experience and are looking for a great opportunity to make a change for the better, then please send us your Résumé/CV.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Perform cable and fiber installation work including splicing fiber.
  • Terminate, splice, and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber.
  • Proficient in using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicers, uni-cam splicers (Sumitomo, Fujikura, Commscope), power meter and OTDR (Fluke Networks).
  • Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber, effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to read, understand and update splice documentation and maps.
  • Use ladders or aerial basket (Man-lift) on poles for accessing aerial fiber or installing/splicing fiber.
  • Must have basic electrical knowledge in AC and DC voltage (Due to patch panel cabinets being energized for live production).
  • Perform construction activities, including, pulling new cable/fiber through conduits, repairing damaged conduit.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of splicing experience in telecommunications or utility industry preferred.
  • 2+ years in cable construction and/or engineering experience with a thorough understanding of a HFC architectures.
  • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
