Job Description
The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Inspector II for immediate employment in the Novi, MI office. This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex transportation projects in Michigan and throughout the country.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Field inspection and oversight of transportation construction projects including bridges, road, traffic signals, signing, ITS and underground facilities.
  • Monitor and record the work and progress of contractors, while tracking material quality and usage using FieldBook, AASHTOWare, and ProjectWise.
  • Verify that traffic control measures are implemented and maintained during construction.
  • Maintain communication between AECOM supervisors and peers, MDOT and local agency personnel, contractor personnel and the general public.
  • Perform NPDES inspections.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and practices and ability to document any and all relevant events, issues and variances
  • Good active written and verbal communication with construction personnel and engineers; ability to perform basic computations and calculations; and ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant construction inspection experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid Driver's license, with good driving record
  • Weekend and night work will be required
  • Overnight travel within the state may be required

Preferred Requirements
  • 4 years of MDOT or other DOT construction inspection experience
