Job description

Project Manager - Restoration & Construction
Location: Livonia, MI
Position Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in restoration, mitigation, or construction to oversee residential, commercial, industrial, and large-loss projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from initial planning through completion while ensuring quality workmanship, safety, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader who excels at coordinating teams, managing schedules and budgets, communicating with clients, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This position also offers opportunities to support national catastrophe (CAT) response efforts and advance into Estimator leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage restoration and/or construction projects from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all service lines offered by Our Client.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and supervise all phases of assigned projects.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality control, safety compliance, and customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor, materials, and production to maximize profitability.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, photographs, sketches, and progress updates.
  • Review project progress regularly and communicate schedules, challenges, and solutions with clients and management.
  • Coordinate and onboard subcontractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Manage both fixed-price and time-and-material projects, including proper documentation for invoicing.
  • Conduct regular job site inspections to ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and safety requirements.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and maintain company equipment according to policy.
  • Collaborate closely with Estimators regarding project scope, scheduling, budgeting, and change orders.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional restoration or construction services that benefit clients.
  • Support emergency response and CAT deployments when required.
  • Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, overtime, and travel as business needs dictate.
  • Participate in ongoing company training and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing restoration, mitigation, reconstruction, or commercial construction projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects and field teams simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, documentation, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, scopes of work, and construction documents.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
  • Knowledge of restoration industry standards, construction methods, and applicable building codes.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing large commercial or large-loss restoration projects.
  • Previous fire, water, mold, or storm restoration experience.
  • Experience leading catastrophe (CAT) response projects.
  • Industry certifications such as IICRC, OSHA, or other restoration/construction credentials are preferred.
