Construction Project Manager (Pavement Marking)

Salary: $75,000-$90,000

Location: Troy, MI (Onsite)

Position Summary

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing roadway construction projects from start to finish. This position oversees project schedules, staffing, materials, and external communications to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. The Project Manager works closely with estimators, superintendents, foremen, customers, and internal departments to drive successful project execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the crews each morning with getting out on time with the adequate paperwork, maps, etc.
  • Field calls from road crews, and contractors to ensure jobs run seamlessly.
  • Manage roadway construction, pavement marking, traffic control, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee aspects of project execution, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate field operations with superintendents, foremen, and contractors.
  • Monitor project costs, productivity, and performance to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation, including daily reports, and closeout documents.
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to minimize delays, cost overruns, and operational impacts.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and contractor meetings as required.
  • Assist with project forecasting, manpower planning, equipment utilization, and material procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contract specifications, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Promote and enforce company safety standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Mentor and support field personnel and project support staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and construction management experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience in heavy civil, roadway construction, pavement marking, traffic control, or related construction industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of MUTCD standards and pavement marking materials and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
  • Experience with construction management and project accounting software preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Schedule

  • Construction Season: Monday through Friday and one weekend day.
  • Off-Season: Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on project schedules.
