Job description

Position Title:  Systems & Network Security Specialist                     
Campus: All
Reports To: IT Director       
Status: Full-time

Position Summary:
The Systems & Network Security Specialist will be responsible for using analysis and techniques to solve infrastructure and connectivity issues in our IT department. They are responsible for identifying risks and improvements needed by designing solutions and implementing change. They also provide support to staff on all computer related issues across all campuses by performing computer hardware repair, including installation, configuration, and deployment.
This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward
the vision of Central Christian Church.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply system analysis techniques and procedures to monitor the network using various tools and applications.
  • Manage cybersecurity monitoring and response, including:
    • Identifying and remediating malware, viruses, and external threats using Cisco FirePower, FireAMP, and firewall systems.
    • Consulting with staff on security-related concerns.
    • Documenting and testing new security services to provide multi-layered endpoint protection.
    • Serving as the first responder to security breaches or virus outbreaks, including the development of a formal cybersecurity response plan.
  • Conduct regular system reviews, generating reports that identify efficiencies and areas for improvement.
  •  Manage the full lifecycle of our surveillance and SMS fob system:
    • Installation of cameras.
    • System configuration.
    • Ongoing software management and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Access software management.
    • Support SMS door fob system.
  • Support physical network infrastructure tasks, including:
    • Running and terminating network cables
    • Installing network hardware
    • Overseeing network setup for new construction or renovations
  • Provide technology consulting to all ministry teams:
    • Meet regularly with ministries to assess needs
    • Proactively offer technical solutions to improve ministry operations
  • Provide Level 2 support for technical assistance requests:
    • Respond in person, by phone, remote access, or email
    • Diagnose and resolve both hardware and software issues
    • Advise staff on best practices for computer usage
  • Provide weekend IT support as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • A minimum of three years of computer/Cybersecurity experience.
  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator.
  • Ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions to complex analytical questions
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to provide strong customer service while listening, eliciting information efficiently, comprehending, and resolving issues
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve goals
  • Commitment to continual learning and improvement of technical skills.
