Registered Nurse (RN) – Weekend Shift Supervisor

Full-Time | Sumter Health & Rehabilitation | York, AL

Base Pay: $33.25-$43.65 per hour (based on experience)

Lead the Weekend Nursing Team

Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) Weekend Shift Supervisor to join our nursing leadership team.


This position is ideal for an RN who is ready to take on greater leadership responsibility while remaining actively involved in resident care. As the Weekend Shift Supervisor, you'll provide clinical leadership, support nursing staff, oversee resident care, and help ensure smooth nursing operations throughout the weekend.

RN Weekend Shift Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision of nursing staff during weekend shifts.
  • Oversee resident care and daily nursing operations throughout the facility.
  • Supervise and support Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Conduct resident rounds and assess changes in resident condition.
  • Respond to clinical concerns and provide guidance to nursing staff.
  • Review physician orders and ensure medications, treatments, and nursing interventions are implemented appropriately.
  • Coordinate resident care with physicians, pharmacy, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and changes in resident condition as needed.
  • Promote infection prevention, resident safety, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, nursing leadership, and staff.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
  • Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Previous nursing experience required.
  • Nursing leadership, supervisory, Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, or Shift Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, post-acute care, or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to confidently make clinical decisions and provide leadership during weekend operations.
