POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Epic Pharmacy Informatics Analyst is responsible for the implementation, configuration, optimization, maintenance, testing, and support of Epic pharmacy applications and medication management technologies. This position serves as the application expert for pharmacy information systems, partnering with pharmacists, physicians, nursing, revenue cycle, Information Technology, third-party vendors, and operational leadership to improve medication safety, clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. 

Project Details

  • Estimated Project Start Date: February 2027
  • Work Model: Hybrid (combination of onsite and remote work)
  • Location: Opelika, AL

Remote Assessment Requirements

  • Applicants must complete an EPIC assessment as part of the hiring process.
  • Assessment Availability: Applicants will be sent a link to schedule
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours

Certification Requirements

  • EPIC certification is mandatory and must be completed within the scope of the project timeline.
  • Will be provided three (3) attempts to pass

Schedule & Expectations

  • Work hours may vary based on project needs, and flexibility is required. Outside of major project events, work will generally occur during normal weekday business hours in the Central Time Zone.
  • Applicants must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
  • On-call coverage for weeknights and weekends may be required after project go-live to support critical issues that impact patient care, billing, or revenue cycle operations.
  • ETO may be restricted during major project events and transition-readiness activities to ensure adequate project coverage and support.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel will be required depending on the project phase and business needs. This includes air travel with multi-day visits.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
 
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Allied Health, Business Administration, or a related field required. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare information technology experience may be considered.
Minimum Experience
  • Five (5) years of pharmacy operations, pharmacy informatics, healthcare information systems, or Epic application support experience. 
Required Registration/License/Certification
  • Epic certification must be obtained and maintained according to organizational requirements.
  • Alabama Board of Pharmacy Technician Certificate
