What is a weekend nursing informatics specialist?

A Weekend Nursing Informatics Specialist is a registered nurse who focuses on managing and optimizing healthcare information systems during weekend shifts. They bridge the gap between clinical staff and IT departments by ensuring electronic health records (EHRs) and other digital tools support patient care effectively. These specialists work to troubleshoot system issues, train staff, and analyze data to improve healthcare processes, all while accommodating the unique demands of weekend hospital operations. Their work helps enhance patient safety, workflow efficiency, and the overall quality of care provided outside of regular weekday hours.

How does the weekend nursing informatics role typically interact with clinical staff and IT teams to resolve issues?
