Introduction

The Prince William County Department of Public Safety Communications (DPSC) is seeking a highly motivated Business Services Administrator with exceptional interpersonal skills to join our team. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support that ensures the efficient and effective operation of a diverse, high-performing organization dedicated to delivering critical emergency communication services to the residents, visitors, and businesses of Prince William County.
About This Role: The Business Services Administrator is responsible for supervising the Administrative Team consisting of the Senior Fiscal Analyst, Senior Personnel Analyst, and Background Investigators. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, completing and maintaining team evaluations, approving team time cards and leave requests, providing counseling and mentoring to team members, overseeing department budget development and recommendations, researching and submitting grant proposals, overseeing the hiring process and providing applicant recommendations, event planning and coordinating, maintaining and procuring uniform and supply inventory, creating and distributing administrative reports, producing the department newsletter, managing website content, serving as a SharePoint editor, and supporting departmental social media initiatives and recruitment efforts. The successful candidate must be highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position has access to confidential and sensitive information and must demonstrate a high level of integrity and trust.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED and seven years of combined fiscal and human resources experience.

Special Requirements (if applicable): The applicant must pass a post-conditional offer comprehensive background investigation, including criminal history check, driving record check, drug testing, credit check, typing test (minimum WPM 30), medical examination, psychological and polygraph assessments. The applicant must also meet all state requirements to be appointed and commissioned as a Notary Public.
Work Schedule: The normal schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The ever changing and challenging dynamics in the Communications Center may demand some short notice adjustments to work schedule. May include some after hours and weekends.
Starting Salary Range: $97,240 - $111,057.38
