Overview

Senior Software Engineer - Piada Support Center - Columbus, Ohio

*Hybrid Position, several days per week in office at our Piada Home Office located in Grandview.

*Must live in the Columbus, Ohio or surrounding area

*Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

*Salary plus bonus $120,000-180,000 Annual Compensation

The Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Piada’s company sites, internal analytics dashboard, and point-of-sale systems with the goal of enhancing our technical infrastructure to better serve our guests and teams, as well as mentoring and teaching other Software Engineers on the team.

This role is also responsible for maintaining menu management systems, managing third-party applications, assisting stores with point-of-sale issues, and partnering with internal teams to use technology to solve business problems. You will also be a point of contact for guests seeking help with online orders, gift cards, Piada Rewards, and other inquiries or concerns they may have.

The ideal candidate for this role will embody and demonstrate Piada’s core values, have a passion for development, mentoring, strategizing, and guest experience, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with various cross-functional teams within the organization. You are comfortable moving between code, data, vendors, store technology, and guest-facing systems while keeping business impact and service quality at the center of your work.

In this position, you will use your technical expertise to tackle real-world business challenges and steer the software solutions that are deployed in our technology stack. Responsibilities

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of online, mobile, and internal software platforms. Software Developer
  • Architects advanced solutions to business problems using foundational knowledge of software development and business priorities
  • Mentors and teaches other Software Engineers on best practices, languages, libraries, and tools
  • Creates and maintains documentation
  • Collaborates with other departments to develop solutions to business problems, including creating integrations between existing platforms
  • Manages user accounts in cloud-based software
  • Maintains, updates, and creates menu items as menu changes
  • Supports stores with point-of-sale issues
  • Answers guest questions regarding online ordering, gift cards, Piada Rewards, and other questions/concerns that are sent to the Technology-managed email addresses.
  • Provides timelines and roadmaps for development projects and technology initiatives
  • Maintain and manage relationships with software vendors
  • Other duties as assigned, as opportunities and challenges arise

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CS, Computer Science and Engineering, CSE, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience/certification

Minimum 6 years of professional experience in full-stack development, with preferences for:

  • Ruby on Rails
  • JavaScript (Vue)
  • HTML/CSS
  • Mobile apps - iOS (Swift) / Android (Kotlin)
  • Linux server maintenance
  • Understanding of user-experience theories and concepts
  • Cloud server architecture, configuration, and deployment. Specific knowledge of AWS is a plus
  • Be aware of security best practices to ensure the appropriate protection of data and resources
  • Ability to take business requirements and translate them into technology solutions
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to create a structured project plan and prioritize tasks according to business requirements
  • High attention to detail
