Position Overview

The right candidate will be joining L3Harris Communication Systems as a Lead Systems Engineer(Networking Engineer), where you'll play a critical role in designing and integrating advanced networking solutions that enable mission-critical communications around the world. The Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) will provide and direct technical leadership for systems engineering for the Cascade program. This role requiresa strong background in communications systems, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration, along with the ability to support internal teams and external customers in a dynamic defense environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the technical lead for systems engineering activities in support of the program
  • Directing and being responsible for System engineering work on the program
  • Provide technical guidance and support across design, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities
  • Identify problems and opportunities, assess impacts, and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop effective, practical solutions to complex technical issues
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, program management, operations personnel,and customers
  • Support unfamiliar or challenging assignments with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Work closely with the Project Engineer (PE) and Program Manager (PM) to ensure alignment on technicalpriorities and execution
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external customers
  • Lead networking system designs for next-generation communication products and systems.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings for leadership and customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement, applying lessons learned from programs to future designs.
  • Oversee product development technical activities and system integration activities to ensure designs aretechnically sound and meet system level requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 4-6 times per year, including occasional weekend travel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with or knowledge of Servers, Multiplexers, Routers, Switches, COMSEC devices
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting experience at the LRU and CCA level
  • Strong computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Prefer experience with some of the following tools: TeamCenter, SAP, SAPME, ProPricer, DOORS, Jira, Visio, Excel
  • Networking expereince, including knowledge of networking protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to lead technical discussions across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineering, program management, and operations
