Weekend Network Analyst information

What are the main challenges faced by a Weekend Network Analyst, and how can they be managed effectively?

Weekend Network Analysts often encounter the challenge of working independently during off-peak hours, which can mean limited immediate support from other IT staff or vendors. Additionally, they may be required to troubleshoot and resolve critical network issues swiftly to minimize downtime, as many organizations schedule maintenance and updates on weekends. Staying proactive, maintaining thorough documentation, and having clear escalation protocols in place are essential strategies for managing these challenges effectively. Strong communication skills also help in coordinating with on-call team members and ensuring seamless handovers to weekday staff.

What does a Weekend Network Analyst do?

A Weekend Network Analyst monitors, manages, and troubleshoots computer networks specifically during weekend hours. They ensure network systems remain secure and operational, resolving any technical issues that arise outside of standard business times. Their responsibilities include analyzing network performance, identifying potential threats or inefficiencies, and collaborating with IT teams to maintain optimal network functionality. This role is critical for organizations that require constant network availability, even on weekends.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Network Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Network Analyst, you need a solid understanding of network protocols, troubleshooting techniques, and a degree or certification in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark), ticketing systems, and relevant certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA is often required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are vital soft skills for this position. These competencies ensure rapid issue resolution and maintain network reliability during critical off-peak hours when support resources are limited.

What is the difference between Weekend Network Analyst vs Network Technician?

Job description

Job Description Everforth ECS is seeking a highly qualified Network Analyst to support the J2 Network Analysis Branch and supports intelligence analysis focused on adversarial Unmanned Systems, or UxS, enabling networks. Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding. The analyst is responsible for identifying, assessing, and characterizing the operational ecosystems that support adversary UxS employment, including supply chains, logistics pathways, communications infrastructure, procurement mechanisms, facilitators, financial activity, transportation networks, and related support structures.

This position supports prior-to-launch mission activities by identifying exploitable vulnerabilities, operational signatures, critical nodes, and opportunities for disruption, interdiction, targeting, or other mission actions before adversary UxS systems are employed. The analyst will integrate intelligence reporting, technical exploitation findings, systems analysis, operational reporting, collection reporting, and partner-derived information to produce actionable intelligence products in support of counter-UxS operations, counter-network analysis, threat assessments, targeting activities, and operational planning. The Network Analyst will develop and contribute to targeting packages, network assessments, operational support products, indications and warning products, threat assessments, intelligence briefings, link-analysis products, and future threat assessments related to adversarial UxS operational support activities and global enabling networks.

The analyst's work will directly support the customer's ability to understand, anticipate, disrupt, and counter adversary UxS capabilities before employment. PRIMARY DUTIES: Serve as a Network Analyst within the customer's J2 Network Analysis Branch, conducting all-source and network-focused analysis of adversarial UxS enabling networks, supply chains, operational support structures, communications pathways, procurement activities, facilitators, and associated operational ecosystems. Analyze adversary UxS operational dependencies, logistical support pathways, transportation networks, financial activity, communications infrastructure, procurement mechanisms, technical support structures, and other enabling functions that contribute to adversary UxS capabilities and employment.

Support prior-to-launch mission activities by identifying critical nodes, operational signatures, vulnerabilities, patterns of life, indicators, and opportunities for disruption, interdiction, exploitation, or targeting before adversary UxS system employment. Integrate intelligence reporting, collection reporting, technical exploitation findings, systems analysis, operational reporting, and external partner information to develop comprehensive assessments of adversarial UxS support structures and operational methodologies. Produce and support targeting packages, network assessments, operational support products, indications and warning products, threat assessments, and future threat forecasts related to adversarial UxS networks and enabling activities.

Coordinate with intelligence analysts, operational personnel, targeting elements, law enforcement partners, interagency organizations, Combatant Commands, and external mission partners to build a shared understanding of adversarial UxS operational ecosystems. Conduct counter-network analysis to identify relationships among facilitators, suppliers, procurement entities, transportation nodes, financial enablers, communications pathways, logistics providers, and operational actors associated with adversary UxS activity. Support operational planning by providing timely, relevant, and actionable intelligence that informs mission options, targeting priorities, interdiction opportunities, and risk assessments.

Identify emerging trends, evolving threat methodologies, procurement shifts, supply-chain adaptations, and changes in adversary UxS operational support networks. Prepare written assessments, briefings, link-analysis products, network diagrams, intelligence summaries, and other analytic deliverables for senior leaders, operational stakeholders, and mission partners. Salary Range 114,639.00 - 114,639.00 Required Skills * Must be a US Citizen * Active DoD TS/SCI clearance * Must have a Bachelor's Degree in intelligence studies, engineering, systems analysis, international relations, national security studies, computer science, data science, or a related field; or equivalent operational, military, intelligence, special operations, or technical experience.

* Prior experience supporting Special Mission Unit, Special Operations Forces, joint special operations, or highly sensitive operational mission environments. * Professional military education, intelligence community training, special operations training, targeting courses, counter-network analysis training, counter-UxS training, or other mission-relevant certifications are highly desirable. * Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in intelligence analysis, systems analysis, operational analysis, technical analysis, special operations support, or defense-related mission support.

* Experience conducting intelligence analysis, network analysis, counter-network analysis, or all-source analysis in support of military, interagency, law enforcement, or intelligence community operations. * Demonstrated understanding of adversary networks, operational support structures, logistics chains, procurement pathways, communications infrastructure, facilitators, and enabling ecosystems. * Experience supporting targeting, operational planning, threat analysis, indications and warning, or mission support activities.

* Ability to integrate multiple intelligence disciplines and reporting streams into coherent, actionable assessments. * Experience producing intelligence products, targeting support materials, operational assessments, link charts, network diagrams, and briefing materials for operational stakeholders. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief complex analytic findings to senior leaders and mission partners.

* Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment and support time-sensitive operational requirements. * Ability to coordinate effectively across intelligence, operational, interagency, law enforcement, Combatant Command, and external partner communities. Desired Skills * Experience with counter-UxS, counterterrorism, counterproliferation, counter-threat finance, counter-network, counter-facilitation, or supply-chain analysis.

* Knowledge of adversarial UxS capabilities, employment concepts, procurement networks, technical support structures, and operational signatures. * Experience supporting prior-to-launch, interdiction, disruption, or targeting-focused mission activities. * Familiarity with technical exploitation reporting, captured material exploitation, systems analysis, or operational reporting related to unmanned systems or associated components.

* Experience using link-analysis, geospatial, intelligence research, targeting, or network-mapping tools. * Understanding of interagency coordination processes and intelligence support to operational decision-making. * Experience supporting Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, Special Operations, or intelligence community mission sets.
