Job description

Webster, TX - Salary 65 - 70k (NASA - Must be US Citizen)
Job Brief
This field position inspects construction (primarily roof work) projects to ensure it is performed in accordance with project plans and specifications, standards, and methods set out in the project Quality Control Plan and Quality Assurance Plans, and client requirements and specifications. The quality assurance inspector also conducts quality assurance surveillance on materials and services provided by vendors and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
  • Provides oversight for contractors to ensure compliance with all plans and specifications
  • Conducts business in an ethical manner and demonstrates a commitment to quality and excellence
  • Completes required field inspections and reports as directed by the Quality Manager
  • Documents, reports, and follows-through on results of the field inspections
  • Participates in quality-related training courses assigned by the Quality Manager
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and other practices set forth by upper management directives
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

Requirements
  • High School diploma required with some higher education preferred
  • Willing to work nights and weekends when required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in QC inspection of construction projects is required. (Roofing experience is desired)
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft Office required (Microsoft Project desired)
  • Commercial Building Inspector Certification preferred
  • Experience with Government projects and Construction of Facilities projects is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree is a plus

Job-site Specific Requirements
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas Driver's License
  • Must be able to obtain, and maintain, access to the job site from NASA Security/Badging
  • Must complete all required safety and awareness training
  • Must meet all requirements of the Johnson Space Center/Amentum Fall Protection Program
  • Due to Safety Protection equipment requirements, qualified candidates must weigh a minimum of 130 pounds and a maximum of 290 pounds
