Job description


The Solutions Advocate provides excellent service to students by creating a personalized experience for all. As a member of the Solutions team, the Solutions Advocate will support students with navigation of processes that are often barriers throughout the college experience, while ensuring the delivery of tone and hospitality of the institution.
Job Description:
The Solutions Advocate will:
  • Provide proactive ongoing support to students to help them navigate academic, financial, and personal challenges to enhance the student experience.
  • Monitor email inboxes, phone calls, and walk-ins to ensure students receive the information needed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in proactive student-centered responses and processes relevant to registrar, financial aid, and student account procedures that are often a barrier to students.
  • Execute outreach related to the Integrated Communication Plan including, but not limited to, student account holds, class registration guidelines, financial aid information, and upcoming events within the Solutions department.
  • Process all student payments, department deposits, and scholarships.
  • Utilize database systems including, but not limited to, Self-Service, Colleague, TouchNet, Mongoose, Pharos, and Slate.
  • Manage a caseload of new students during their first year and work with faculty to enhance the student experience in and outside of the classroom.
  • Partner with Student Success to provide individualized, intentional outreach to students based on their grade performance each semester.
  • Support New Student Orientation, onboarding events, and other campus events.
  • Provide feedback on processes and procedures to create more student-centered experiences.
The estimated wage range is $20.51 to $20.56 per hour for 37.5 hours per week for 52 weeks.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams
  • Commitment to student success and mission of the College
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Evening and weekend hours will be expected (with advance notice) throughout the year
