Landscape Construction Lead (Hands-On, Field Role)

$30-$40/hour (DOE) | Full-Time | San Diego County

Drab to Fab is hiring a Landscape Construction Lead to run jobs in the field and lead a crew on high-quality landscape installations.

This is a hands-on role-you'll be on-site daily, working alongside your crew while leading production and ensuring projects are built right.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and work alongside a landscape construction crew

  • Execute builds hands-on (grading, irrigation, planting, drainage)

  • Set daily priorities and keep the crew on track

  • Ensure quality, efficiency, and jobsite organization

  • Troubleshoot issues in the field as they come up

  • Coordinate with Project Manager on progress and needs


What This Role Is

  • Field-based, on-site leadership

  • Hands-on construction + crew leadership

  • Fast-paced, production-focused


What This Role Is Not

  • Not a desk job

  • Not a project manager position

  • Not primarily administrative


Requirements

  • 5+ years of landscape construction experience

  • Experience leading or running a crew

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Irrigation (drip, spray, timers, wiring)

    • Drainage and grading

    • Planting and soil prep

  • Ability to operate skid steer and mini excavator

  • Valid driver's license with clean record

  • Physically able to perform outdoor construction work


Preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Strong leadership and communication skills


Work Environment

  • Outdoors on jobsites across San Diego County

  • Physical, active work (lifting, digging, operating equipment)

  • Team-oriented, production-driven environment


Pay & Benefits

  • $30-$40/hour (depending on experience)
