Millwright – Industrial Bolting & Stud Tensioning

Short-Term Industrial Project | East Dubuque, IL
$35.00/Hour + $150/Day Per Diem + $0.73/Mile
Paid Travel Time | Guaranteed 12 Hours/Day
August 30 – September 2, 2026

We are hiring 4 experienced Millwrights for a short-term industrial project in East Dubuque, IL performing specialized industrial bolting and stud tensioning work at a nitrogen fertilizer facility.

This is a high-hour, physically demanding project that is ideal for experienced Millwrights, Boilermakers, Industrial Mechanics, and other skilled tradespeople with a strong mechanical background.

Project Details

  • Start Date: August 30, 2026
  • Duration: Approximately 4 days
  • Location: East Dubuque, IL
  • Pay: $35.00/hour
  • Schedule: 12–16 hours per day
  • Guaranteed: 12 hours paid per day, even if the scheduled work is completed sooner
  • Saturday & Sunday: Time-and-a-half for all hours worked
  • Paid Lunch: Lunch breaks are paid
  • Paid Standby: Standby time is paid
  • Travel Time: Paid at your regular hourly rate for travel in and out
  • Mileage: $0.73 per mile
  • Per Diem: $150 per day
  • Openings: 4
  • Physical Requirements: This is physically demanding industrial work

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform industrial bolting and stud tensioning work
  • Work with large-diameter studs, nuts, flanges, and heavy industrial components
  • Assist with installation, removal, alignment, and mechanical assembly
  • Operate specialized hydraulic bolting and tensioning equipment
  • Perform manual handling and positioning of heavy components and tooling
  • Follow procedures for high-torque and hydraulic tensioning applications
  • Work safely around industrial process equipment and piping systems
  • Support the project team with general millwright and mechanical duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Millwright, Boilermaker, Industrial Mechanic, Pipefitter, or similar skilled trade
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience with large industrial bolting, flange work, studs, or mechanical assembly is highly preferred
  • Hydraulic bolt tensioning or industrial torque equipment experience is a plus
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods
  • Ability to work 12–16 hour shifts
  • Must be available for the entire project, August 30–September 2
  • Must be clean shaven or have a mustache only due to site requirements
  • Must be able to travel to East Dubuque, IL
  • Must be able to complete required site-specific training and screening
