Function / Position Summary
Each Network Digital Media Professional develops and updates content for the school websites and social media platforms within one of the five school networks. While each school remains primarily responsible for updating its individual school website and social media platforms, the Network Digital Media Professional aides those efforts throughout the network. This position provides training and troubleshooting support for websites and social media, as well as social media content review and creation and website review and layout changes. This position is designed to ensure equality for all schools within the network in regard to the quality and consistency of digital media, as directed by the Senior Communications Specialist who supervises the management of the digital media platforms. Digital content created by the Network Digital Media Professionals is done so in accordance with Communications & Community Relations Department posting guidelines. Network Digital Media Professionals will ensure that content positively features the district, its students, its employees, and/or its educational programming to bolster school pride and engagement among the school communities in the network.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Ensure content featuring students abides by the district's publication guidelines and permissions for the posting of student names/images.
  • Attend regular digital media planning/training meetings as scheduled by the Digital Media Professionals' supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SOCIAL MEDIA
  • Develop a quarterly calendar to ensure the stories/activities of students of varying ages, abilities, and schools are sent to the district to highlight in district social posts and publications.
  • Collaborate with school-based employees within the network for ideas on engaging classroom activities and events to celebrate on social media.
  • Follow and monitor the social media platforms of the schools within the designated network to ensure equality in posting frequency and assist by adding a minimum of three posts per week of school-based classroom-related content (text and photo/video) to the social media accounts of schools that are lacking in content.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Communications Specialist to take advantage of social media cross-promotion opportunities and expand reach.
  • Regularly monitor trending social media comments for schools within the network and report any concerns to the digital media supervisor.

WEBSITE
  • Assist in training school-based employees within the network to perform regular maintenance updates of school website content, and help troubleshoot issues, as needed.
  • Perform school website page reviews and layout/content updates as directed by the Digital Media Professionals' supervisor.

Education
  • Communications, journalism, photography, website, media or writing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of AP Style is a plus.

Experience / Knowledge
  • A solid understanding of the impact of online communications on the district and its publics.
  • Knowledge of district/school branding and digital media guidelines.
  • Ability to work with students of varying ages and abilities, ensuring their privacy and safety online.
  • Working knowledge of (or a strong desire and willingness to learn) Meta Business Suite and the district's website content management system.
  • Ability to capture and edit photos/video.
  • Strong attention to detail and active listening skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a team setting.
  • Ability to use traditional, current, advanced, and emerging communication and technology tools.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to use district digital communication tools and office equipment and lift up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.

Terms of Employment
  • 184 work day stipend position.
  • One-time stipend processed in June 2026. If desired, the stipend can be split between two individuals.
  • Primary work completed outside of official school hours with some evening/weekend work likely.
  • Frequent offsite work; must be willing to travel.
