Luther Manor is seeking aCertified Medication Assistant

2nd shift (230pm-1045pm)

Limited Full-Time (4 days a week with alternating weekend and holidays rotation)

A Certified Medication Assistant, administers and records select medications to residents. Performs general nursing assistant duties.

Essential JobFunctions:

    • Encourages and models a team approach toaccomplishthe Luther Manor Mission of providing excellent care and services to our customers.
    • Reports potential/actual safety hazards to Maintenance, Security, RN Care Coordinator or Nursing Supervisor immediately. Implements correction actions as able.
    • Administer scheduled medication prescribed for routine administration according to medication administration policy and procedures. Administers select PRN medications only after the nurse has authorized the administration.
    • Encourages and models a team approach to accomplish the Luther Manor Mission of providing excellent care and services to our customers.
    • Communicate with the staff nurse any concerns related to proper care of the resident.
    • Take and record blood pressure and pulse as indicated in conjunction with prescribed medications.
    • Follow directions given by unit nurse and communicate effectively with residents and staff. Work effectively and cooperatively as a team member with all disciplines.
    • Follow established infection/exposure control procedures, hazardous waste policies and procedures.
    • Participates in In-service educational programs to increase knowledge and skills.
    • Adhere to the nursing assistant job description when not administering medications.
    • Strive for optimal use of supplies, materials; keeping in mind cost and budget limitations.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all residents, departmental and organizational information.
    • Comply with policies and procedures including attendance, uniform, etc.
    • Follows established policy for Medication Assistant / Tech Parameters.
    • May be required to perform duties as set forth on the CNA job description during a shift scheduled as Medication Technician.
    • May be required to work shifts as CNA on a given shift where Medication Technician hours are not available, or offered the option to go home if staffing levels permit.
    • Other duties as assigned.
