Brennan's of Houston, known for Southern Hospitality, Texas Creole cuisine and making great memories for our guests since 1967 is searching for an In-House Marketing Director. Although we’ve been in Houston for fifty-nine years now, we originated in New Orleans by the Brennan Family of New Orleans which includes sister restaurant Commander's Palace in The Garden District.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, multi-tasking, detail-oriented and creative In-house Marketing Director to join the Brennan's of Houston team. Working closely with the Ownership, Culinary, and Operation teams, Marketing Director assists with all aspects of social media, marketing, communication efforts, including our many in-house events large and small.

This role requires creativity, superior organization, time-management as well as people skills. Understanding and experience in social media for small businesses is a priority. Enthusiasm for restaurants, a proven track record and applied experience in marketing, and the ability to interface with chefs, management, as well as ownership are core skills necessary. Experience with restaurant CRM & reservation software, POS software, event management software preferred but willingness to learn and master these required.

General Duties:

• Execute all marketing and communications initiatives, including organic and paid social media, email, and digital and/or print advertising.

• Assist with the management of social media accounts and content calendar, including planning, curating, posting, monitoring, and community engagement.

• Create original visual and written content and develop strategies to improve user engagement and drive action across all major channels.

• Champion our in-house events. Create, track and manage ticketed events including ticket sales, menu creation, pricing, marketing and PR.

• Monitor and respond to online reviews and email feedback and provide management with reporting.

• Update website content and communicate with web developers as needed.

• Assist with copywriting and copyediting needs for the marketing department.

• Stay apprised of emerging marketing technologies, trends, and industry news.

• Manage restaurant gift certificates, donations, and vouchers.

• Manage Gift Card promotions.

• Coordinate and maintain Owner’s and Executive Chef’s calendars and remind them of key events.

• Execute computer and clerical tasks including accounting for expense reports, credit card reconciliations, basic spreadsheet and document creation/editing, form completion on behalf of owners, and IT troubleshooting and coordination.

• Conduct research, compile data and prepare papers for consideration and presentation by owners.

• Update and maintain the daily, holiday and special menus in print for guests, on Toast for servers and kitchen teams, and on the website.

• Collaborate with the PR agency on media pitches, photography, television interviews, print interviews and influencer events.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred with a concentration in marketing or communications, but real-world experience will be considered.

• 3-5 years of experience in marketing.

• Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms and understanding of Instagram, Facebook Business Manager, and Ads Manager.

• Ability to decipher digital marketing analytics & provide actionable insights in reporting.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign

• Experience in photography, videography, and editing.

• Strong knowledge of SEO and its role in content marketing.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong project management and organizational skills.

• Problem solver with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to getting things done.

• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision and tight deadlines.

• A team player with a positive go-getter attitude and a sense of humor.

• Maintain an exemplary level of confidentiality when dealing with Owners’ personal and business information.

• Ability to provide work samples of well-written copy, social posts, articles, blogs, etc.

• Ability to work holidays, evenings & weekend events as needed.
