About the role:

KOAM News Now is looking for a Weekend Anchor/MMJ to join our team. As the face of our weekend evening shows, you will play a key role in delivering news that informs, engages, and empowers our viewers across broadcast, social, streaming, and digital platforms. This position is the newsroom leader on the weekend. Candidates should have experience shooting/editing video and writing. Newsroom experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Anchor weekend evening newscasts and actively participate in daily newsgathering

2. Report, write, and deliver stories in a clear and concise manner

3. Respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations as required

4. Write stories for the website and digital platforms, and engage with viewers on social media in a professional manner

5. Participate in station promotional activities and special news programming

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field

2. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to ad lib as needed

3. Strong news judgment, ethics, and editorial control

4. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
