Description

The Biller is responsible for managing the administrative responsibilities of billing insurance and processing payments for patients.    

Essential Functions:

  • Looking for medical billing, collections, accounts receivable experience.
  • Posts daily office visit and surgery charges
  • Charge corrections and adjustments when necessary
  • Work accounts receivable and denial reports
  • Analyze patient accounts for balances owed and credit balances
  • Coordinate collection of outstanding monies not received during patient visits
  • Communicate regularly with Practice Administrator regarding the status of authorizations and denials
  • Other duties related to the position as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public.
  • Knowledge of how to use office equipment including phone, computer, copy machine

Requirements

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Prior experience as a biller and EMR experience preferred
