Job description

Airswift is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to work with one of our major LNG clients in Gregory, TX, for a 2-year assignment.
The Project Controls Analyst will monitor project costs, schedules, and resource usage and provide reporting in a timely manner for a construction power project executed under a Time and Materials contract. This role will ensure accurate tracking of labor hours, equipment at site, material costs, expenditures, confirm quantities installed, update forecast, and track and analyze field progress to ensure construction stays on budget and on schedule.
The ideal candidate will ensure that cost is transparent, well-maintained and controlled. Coordinate with all the stakeholders on the preparation, tracking and analysis of the project budget and forecast. Monitor the Contractor's execution performance in the area of scope, scheduling, progress tracking and reporting and advise on trends and risk that will impact schedule, progress and cost.
Job Responsibilities:
Provision of commercial support to the division including:
  • Reporting including cash flow development, forecasting, progress, earned value, financial status, change orders and contingency
  • Monitor and track daily labor hours, equipment utilization, and material consumption
  • Track construction progress, provide project performance metrics and status updates
  • Analyze actual costs against budgets and forecast
  • Assist in invoice preparation for verifying labor, equipment and material charges
  • Support forecasting of labor, equipment and material requirements for the project duration
  • Work with the construction team to verify quantities installed
  • Support change management by documenting scope changes, identifying trends and reviewing contractors change order proposals.
  • Analyze cost using earned value, percent complete, productivity rate and burned rate
  • Track project cost, progress, trends, impacts, conflicts, changes, and risks
  • Performing ad-hoc project analysis and support.
  • Working with the construction field team to validate schedule and cost impacts due to change orders.
  • Document delays related to contractor performance such as productivity, weather, equipment breakdowns, manpower shortages, safety, environmental violations, or quality deficiencies.
Required Skills:
  • Detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Must be articulate and have gravitas and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, finance, or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. An MBA, PMP and/or CCP credentials are a definite plus.
  • A minimum of 10 continuous years of experience with an oil & gas operating company and/or engineering and construction company. Had previous experience as a cost analyst on a Time and Material construction project.
Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of project controls functions, processes, and procedures as they apply to project management.
  • Possess a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction costs, materials and procedures in the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in cost control functions including budget development, cost analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in computer based financial and budget systems, PowerPoint for presentation and Strong MS Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a Time and Materials contract.
