Build a Career While Making a Difference in the Lives of Kids and Families.

At Backpack Healthcare, we believe great clinical care starts with supporting the clinicians who provide it.

We provide accessible, high-quality mental health care to children, teens, and young adults — entirely online and covered by most insurance. As a clinician-led, minority-owned organization, we're building a team where therapists can do meaningful work, have a strong referral pipeline, and grow their careers alongside a mission-driven organization.

If you're a Maryland-licensed therapist looking for a full-time caseload, consistent referrals, competitive compensation, monthly bonus potential, and genuine opportunities for professional growth, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

You'll manage a caseload of 25–36 sessions per week, providing individual, family, and group therapy through telehealth.

With a strong referral pipeline, you'll have the opportunity to build a consistent caseload while focusing on what you do best: providing exceptional clinical care.

Most clinicians work weekday afternoons and evenings, typically 2:00–9:00 PM, with weekend availability a plus.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Conducting clinical intakes and assessments
  • Developing client-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans
  • Providing individual, family, and group therapy via telehealth
  • Collaborating with therapists, PMHNPs, psychiatrists, and other members of our interdisciplinary team
  • Maintaining timely, accurate clinical documentation in our EHR
  • Providing family education and care coordination
  • Building strong therapeutic relationships with children, adolescents, and their families
Compensation & Benefits
  • $65/billable hour — LCSW-C, LCPC, or LMFT with independent licensure
  • $45/billable hour — LMSW or LGPC (supervision provided; limited openings)
  • Monthly bonus potential for eligible clinicians based on applicable productivity and performance criteria
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • $401(k) with 3% company match
  • Paid time off
  • $300 annual CEU reimbursement
  • Free clinical supervision for eligible licenses through our Residency & Fellowship Program
  • $25,000 company-paid life insurance
  • Dedicated administrative support from experienced Care Coordinators
  • Pathways into clinical leadership, supervision, mentorship, and professional development
Monthly Bonus Potential

Your earning potential doesn't stop at your billable rate.

Eligible clinicians have the opportunity to earn a monthly performance-based bonus in addition to their regular compensation. Bonus eligibility is based on applicable productivity and performance expectations, providing an additional opportunity to increase your monthly earnings while being recognized for consistently delivering high-quality care.

What We're Looking For
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health discipline
  • Active Maryland license: LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LMFT, or LCSW-C
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
  • Strong technology skills and ability to learn systems including Zoom, Google Workspace, EHR platforms, and collaboration tools
  • Commitment to trauma-informed and culturally responsive care
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Why Backpack Healthcare?

Since 2020, we've served 12,000+ children and families through accessible behavioral healthcare.

And we're focused on outcomes: 78% of families report that their child is doing better after three months of care.

We're building something real in Maryland — and we want clinicians who want to grow with us. Whether your goal is to deepen your clinical expertise, mentor other therapists, pursue supervision, or move into clinical leadership, there's room to grow at Backpack. When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not just a tagline — it's how we build.

Ready to Grow With Us?

If you're a Maryland-licensed therapist ready to build a meaningful career while making a real difference for children and families, we want to hear from you.
