Job description

As Manufacturing Specialist, you will be responsible for safely setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial saws used in the fabrication of custom window components at Paradigm Windows. This is a skilled manufacturing role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, basic math proficiency, and physical strength to handle and move raw materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Set up, adjust, and operate industrial saws and cutting equipment to process raw materials according to specifications.

Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions using a U.S. tape measure with accuracy to 1/32 of an inch.

Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and cut lists to ensure proper material preparation.

Perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, fractions, measurements, conversions) to confirm accurate cuts and minimize waste.

Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality standards are met.

Monitor equipment performance and make mechanical adjustments to maintain efficiency and precision.

Perform routine machine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, blade changes, inspections, and minor part replacements.

Identify equipment wear or mechanical concerns and escalate issues to maintenance or leadership as needed.

Follow and execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing, maintaining, clearing jams, or performing blade changes on machinery.

Ensure all machine guarding and safety devices are in proper working order prior to operation.

Safely lift, move, and position materials weighing 50+ lbs on a repetitive basis throughout the shift.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with all company and OSHA safety standards.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and safety expectations.

Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $18.50-$22 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and other job related factors.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly environment.

Proficient in the use of power tools, machinery, and saws; carpentry experience is highly valued.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and troubleshoot issues swiftly.

Ability to read and accurately utilize a U.S. tape measure.

Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Ability to work under pressure, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

Ability to learn new information systems and leverage them to enhance business processes and efficient results.

Physical capability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor comfortably.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

High school education or GED.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Must be able to work in a loud and fast paced environment, make good judgements, and assist when necessary.

Effective communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Must be able to stand and/or walk for 10 hours, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks using arms and hands).

Must have reliable transportation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
