Job Description:

Primary Purpose of Role:

The Manufacturing Engineer position develops and implementsoptimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methodsin accordance withproduct specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.Responsible for the design and/or testing of tooling and equipment and/or planning the manufacturing processes in a designated area of the manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assistin the development of manufacturing systems with the focus on continuous improvement related to quality and throughput capability of production equipment.

  • Apply knowledge of product design fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.

  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities;establishingstandards; confirming manufacturing processes.

  • Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes.

  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities;establishingstandards; confirming manufacturing processes.

  • Occasional instruction, training, and assignment of work to a small group of employees.

  • Coordinates activities to support manufacturing launch of new or revised programs.

  • Analyze process elements for improved manufacturing capability.

  • Analyze equipment deficiencies for manufacturing improvements.

  • Provide technical support for specific plant operations.

  • Physical presence in the workplace is an essential function

  • Implements and actively supports the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degreein Engineeringfield

Experience:

Essential and Required:

  • 1 to3+years' experience

  • Experience in part processing using various grinding, turning, machining center equipment.

  • CNC programming experience with a thorough knowledge of machine control systems.

  • Project management experiencewith regard tomachine procurement, cost analysis, and process validation.

  • Direct manufacturing experience with at least one of the followingcomponentgroups: rotating and reciprocating components, gears, and/or prismatic parts.

Preferred:

  • 5+years experience

  • Experience working with Unigraphics and other CAD programs.

  • Experience in gear/spline manufacturing, gear geometry, analytical gear evaluation
