Job Title

Senior Manual Tester

What does a successful Manual Tester do at Clover?

Join the SETI (Software Engineering for Test Infrastructure) team as a quality gatekeeper. In this role, you won't just be running tests; you will be the foundational support for our automation efforts. While our automation engineers and 40+ robots handle the repetitive execution, we need a veteran manual expert to ensure the test logic, manual validation, and physical hardware state are pristine. Your deep experience will ensure our automation infrastructure is testing the right things, the right way.

What you will do:

  • Automation Enablement: Act as the primary consultant for automation engineers, providing them with detailed manual test cases, expected results, and edge-case logic required to build reliable scripts.

  • Test Writing: Author high-quality, structured test documentation that serves as the "source of truth" for both manual audits and automated script development.

  • Strategic Test Organization: Audit and organize the existing test suite to eliminate redundancy, improve coverage, and ensure the most critical paths are prioritized for the SETI team.

  • Complex Troubleshooting: Partner with automation engineers to investigate "flaky" tests or failures, using your manual expertise to determine if an issue is a software bug, a hardware limitation, or a script error.

  • Cross-Functional Advocacy: Serve as the bridge between development and automation, ensuring that new features are manually vetted and fully documented before they are handed off for automated integration.

What you will need to have:

  • Experience: 5-10 years of professional QA experience is ideal. We are looking for a "career tester" who prides themselves on methodical discovery and organizational excellence.

  • Expert Test Design: Mastery of writing clear, reproducible, and highly organized test plans that can be easily interpreted by technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Analytical Mindset: The ability to look at a complex system (SDKs, Cloud, Hardware) and identify where manual intervention is required to support or validate automation efforts.

  • Tooling Proficiency: Deep experience with Jira for advanced defect tracking and reporting, and familiarity with Test Management Tools for suite organization.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of professional experience and military service.

What would be great to have:

  • Automation Support Skills: Experience working alongside automation teams using adb, Android Studio, or Linux/Unix to pull logs and verify environment stability.

  • Hardware Familiarity: Experience testing physical devices or Point-of-Sale (POS) systems where hardware/software interaction is critical.

  • Data Validation: Proficiency in SQL/MySQL and API testing (REST)

Visa Sponsorship:

You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

How you'll work:

This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity
