We’re hiring a mechanical Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to design, build, and improve automated and semi‑automated production equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fixtures, and tooling. Onsite in Perry, FL with occasional travel.

Nammo Energetics (NEI) is the division of Nammo Group responsible for the establishment of a solid rocket motor manufacturing facility located in Perry, Florida adjacent to the existing Nammo Perry Inc facility. NEI will oversee the design, construction, qualification, and personnel staffing for the facility which targets initial production in 2027.

The Design Engineer will assist in maintaining and troubleshooting issues with our automated and semi-automated equipment. This person will make improvements to equipment to insure we efficiently meet our production, quality, and safety requirements.

This position is on-site at the Nammo Energetics Office in Downtown, Perry, Florida and requires some travel to Raufoss, Norway within the first 12-18 months.

What You’ll Do: Precision in Action

  • Plan and execute special projects, including design and fabrication of production equipment (automated and semi-automated assembly and secondary machines, etc.), material selection and tooling requirements
  • Evaluate existing mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems for improved yield and throughput.
  • Develop mechanical/electromechanical fixtures and machines adhering to customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Process Engineers, and other departments to obtain necessary requirements for writing detailed scopes for the procurement of new equipment.
  • Assures system and product quality by confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.
  • Estimate tooling cost from design through fabrication.
  • Coordinate with machine vendor through concept, design, fabrication, runoff and setup of equipment.
  • Maintain adherence to Company policies and procedures, safety and environmental standards, and good housekeeping practices
  • Assist maintenance with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 5 years work experience or 15 years work experience in equivalent position.
